Mangar Health Beds

Mobility Scotland are delighted to announce that we will be supplying the Mangar Health range of adjustable beds.

Award Winning Design

As a world leader in the design, manufacture and supply of mobility equipment, Mangar health has been helping people with their independence, dignity and improved quality of life since 1981.

In recognition of all of David’s work and innovation he was awarded the BHTA (British Healthcare Trades Association) Lifetime Service Award in 2007.

Many of the beds in the Manger Health range have the design aesthetic of traditional domestic beds. This means that they are more likely to fit in with home furnishing and decor and don’t look like medical equipment.

Necessity is the Mother of Invention

Mangar Health was born out of necessity when David Garman was trying to solve the problem of helping a relative get in and out of the bath.

Through his skill and determintation he invented the world’s first powered structured bath lift which allows a safe and dignified bathing experience for those with limited mobility.

Independence

Just because someone is confined to their bed for large portions of the day doesn’t necessarily mean that they need to be cared for within a hospital or nursing home. Sometimes the best place for them to be is in their own home. If this is the case then an electric adjustable bed could improve their quality of life.

For almost 40 years, Mangar Health has been developing assistive technology to support the elderly, disabled or people with limited mobility to retain their independence and enable them to stay in their own homes.

The Mangar Health range is designed to make life easier for disabled and elderly people with everyday tasks such as getting in and out of bed, taking a bath, and lifting someone who has fallen.

This can mean that someone is able to stay in their own home for as long as possible.

Pressure Care

One of the biggest concerns for anyone that spends the majority of their time in bed is the development of pressure ulcers (bed sores). Pressure ulcers can develop in a short period of time when a person is left in one position for too long.

Pressure care involves a patient being moved or turned regularly to maintain skin health and this can be a challenge for the loved ones or carers responsible for providing support in the home.

Sometimes, hospital discharge teams are concerned that pressure care management will not be effectively maintained once a patient is ready to return home. Mangar Health products allow for the effective managment of pressure care in the home environment.

Caring for a family member at home can put a substantial amount of pressure on the care giver. A Mangar Health bed can reduce some of this stress, particularly when moving the patient.

Mangar Health Beds

The DUO Divisys 160 Bed is a medical bed suited to needs of individuals who have lost their independence and who wish to live as a couple.

Medical bed suitable for the treatment of individuals in lying down position who have lost their motor independence, either temporarily or permanently, and who are at risk of falling out of bed. For patients requiring medical care.

Some Mangar Health beds have integrated side rails to prevent someone from falling out of bed. Falls of this nature could cause fractures or other injuries and complications, which could result in admission to hospital.
