Rise and Recline Chairs
A Rise and Recline Chair can be a simple and effective solution to overcome various mobility issues, increase independence and protect against falls and accidents in the home. Rise and Recline chairs don’t just provide excellent levels of comfort, they can also help improve your circulation and posture.
Sherborne Rise and Recline Chairs
With almost 90 years of British furniture manufacturing tradition, we are very proud and delighted to present the distinctive and comprehensive range of high quality seating and rise and recline chairs from Sherborne.
For anyone who struggles to get up or sit down, an electric rise and recline chair can make a great deal of difference. The riser action helps you stand up, and also helps you to sit back down again while being supported all the way.
Single or Dual Motor
Single motor rise and recline chairs have one motor that operates both the backrest and leg rest. Meaning, that as the backrest reclines the leg rest elevates.
Dual motor rise and recline chairs had two motors which allow you to adjust the backrest and leg rest independently from one another. This means that there is a much wider range of positional options. E.g. you can slightly recline the backrest while keeping your feet on the floor.
Contemporary Designs and Fabrics
Sherborne also do a fantastic range of 2 and 3 seater sofas, corner suites and static chairs to match with their rise and recline chairs. With an amazing selection of fabrics to suite any decor from traditional to contemporary and from plain and patterned to leather, we have got it covered.
Available in 4 Sizes
Our Sherborne range of rise and recline chairs come in 4 sizes. This is because having a chair with the correct dimensions for your body can make the difference between a comfortable, supportive chair encouraging good posture, and one which is uncomfortable, unsupportive, and produces poor sitting posture.
Size Does Matter!
Height
A chair that is too high can result in reduced stability and can increase the risk of sliding down the chair. If your feet don’t reach the ground, too much weight will be concentrated on the backs of your thighs.
Depth
When the seat depth isn’t correct, weight is not being evenly supported and pressure will be placed on certain areas causing discomfort. If it is too deep, it will be bad for your posture, and rub the back of your knees. In some cases there can be a risk of pressure ulcers.
Width
A seat that is too wide can encourage leaning to the side making the pelvis move unequally. However, it should also be wide enough for you to sit comfortably, without being squeezed or rubbed.
